The Declaration of Independence only mentions three unalienable rights, but also implies that there are others. “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” are “among these” unalienable rights. Other unalienable rights include the right to property, freedom of speech, and religious liberty. The unalienable right to “life” is the most fundamental; “liberty” is essential for the exercise of other unalienable rights; and “the pursuit of happiness” is the object of exercising the previous two rights.
